Kahle named Player of Year

COURTLAND—Southampton High School junior volleyball player Madeline Kahle was named the Southside District Player of the Year.

The Lady Indians were 12-0 for the season and 21-3 overall. The district champions on Monday were eliminated from the state qualifying Group AA Region I tournament after losing 0-3 to Grafton. Southampton was ranked No. 1 in the region and Grafton No. 3.
Kahle and junior Grayson Drake were named to the All District First Team and junior Samantha Billups was chosen for the Second Team. Junior Kaylee Edwards received honorable mention.
Prince Edward’s Bruce Bogese was named Coach of the Year.
