COURTLAND— Southampton Academy’s volleyball team defeated Kenston Forest 3-1 in the first round of the Virginia Commonwealth Conference Tournament on Wednesday.

Set scores were 28-26, 20-25, 25-20, 25-23.

The Lady Raiders improved to 9-5 in the VCC and 10-8 overall.

SA at 6:30 p.m. Thursday will play Richmond Christian at Kenston Forest, a neutral court for the semi-final round of the VCC tournament. Results will be available online Friday at www.thetidewaternews.com, and in Sunday’s print edition of The Tidewater News.
