Windsor loses 3-0 to defending state champs

WINDSOR—The Windsor volleyball team lost 3-0 to defending state champions Mathews High School on Monday.

Set scores were 25-13, 25-19, 25-15.

Windsor dropped to 7-7 overall and is 4-1 in district.

Jessica Blythe led the losing Lady Dukes with 16 assists. Allison Griggs went 10-for-10 serving with 5 kills and 5 digs. MayCayla Sevais had 6 digs and Morgan Burkes added 3. Kellie Matthews went 7-for-7 serving with 10 kills and 4 digs.

In Tri-Rivers District action Thursday, the Lady Dukes won over Sussex Central 3-0.

Set scores were 25-5, 25-9, 25-19.

Blythe had 15 assists, and Griggs made 5 aces, 4 assists and 3 kills. Matthews had 2 aces and 6 kills, while Kelsey Shaffer made 8 aces and Leah Dreps added 4.
