Sophomore quarterback Matt Rose went 5-for-9 passing for 102 yards and three touchdowns.

The Raiders improved to 7-0 and Cary Christian dropped to 5-2 in the Carolina Colonial Conference. Next week SA will take on undefeated Word of God. Cary Christian earlier this season fell 38-18 to Word of God.

Southampton led 14-13 at the end of the first quarter, 36-37 at the half and 36-33 going into the final quarter.

“It was a good ball team,” Marks said. “I thought they were the most physical team we played all year.”

Mechanical difficulties with the bus resulted in game starting 45 minutes late. Parents traveling to the game picked up players and cheerleaders.
