SA improves to 7-1 in VCC with win

LAWRENCEVILLE—Southampton Academy’s volleyball team defeated Brunswick Academy 3-0 in a Virginia Commonwealth Conference match on Thursday.
Set scores were 25-12, 25-15, 25-16.
The Lady Raiders improved to 7-1 in the VCC and 8-2 overall.
Brooke Whitley had 6 kills and 1 block. Katelyn Newsome added 5 kills and 1 block. Whitley Smith with 14 assists.
“We’re getting better,” said Southampton Academy Coach Frank Seal.
SA at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, will be at Christchurch School for a non-conference match.
“It’s going to be a tough game,” said Seal. “They’re a solid team, and we’re going to have to have to play tough to beat them.”
