COURTLAND—Southampton Academy’s volleyball team defeated Blessed Sacrament Huguenot 3-0 in a home Virginia Commonwealth Conference match on Tuesday.

Set scores were 25-12, 25-13, 25-12.

Brooke Whitley had 6 kills and 2 blocks. Katelyn Newsome added 5 kills and 1 block.

“We played well. We still have some things to work on, but we’re getting better every week,” said Southampton Academy Coach Frank Seal.

SA at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, will be at Brunswick Academy.

The team’s conference record is 6-1 and 7-2 overall.
