Tidewater Academy falls to Christchurch

WAKEFIELD—Tidewater Academy’s volleyball team dropped a 3-2 nailbiter to non-district Christchurch on Thursday.

Set scores were 25-20, 24-26, 25-17, 25-27, 17-19.

The Lady Warriors dropped to 9-2.

“We are playing extremely well, and we played an extremely hard fought game,” said Tidewater Coach Jimmy Dunn.

“We had opportunities that we could not capitalize on in the fourth and fifth sets; we just have to get over the hump and get tough mentally to finish out long tough games.”

Leaders for the winners were senior Cary Beahm with 22 kills and 5 blocks; junior Samantha Dunn had 12 kills, 16 assists and 5 blocks; senior Falon Williams had 13 kills and 19 digs; and senior Tyler Stephenson had 12 assists and 10 digs.
