COURTLAND—Southampton Academy’s volleyball team defeated district foe Amelia 3-0 on Thursday.

Set scores were 26-24, 26-24, 25-18.

“I would like to say how proud I am of the team coming off a difficult week and responding like they did last night,” said Southampton Academy Coach Frank Seal. “It was a total team effort everyone on the roaster stepped up there game and made plays.”

Leaders for the winners were junior Katelyn Newsome with 16 kills and 3 aces, Brooke Whitley with 6 kills and junior Morgan Pope with 3 kills.
