Hill scores 5 TDs in SA win

COURTLAND—Southampton Academy junior Tonee Hill scored four touchdowns, including one for 98 yards, and threw a 61-yard touchdown pass to lead the Raiders to a 52-40 homecoming victory over Parrot Academy on Friday.

The Raiders improved to 6-0 in the Carolina Colonial Conference, and on Friday, Oct. 5, will travel to Cary Christian, which is 5-1. Cary Christian’s loss was to undefeated Word of God, who the Raiders will play on Friday, Oct. 12, on the road.

The Raiders rushed for 465 yards and had 555 yards total offense. Hill carried the ball 19 times for 297 yards. Cameron Hines carried the ball six times for 74 yards and two touchdowns.

The Patriots rushed for 290 yards and had 388 yards total offense. Three out of five turnovers were in the red zone.

Patriots quarterback Andrew Davenport completed 11 of 19 passes for 98 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions.

Hill’s other touchdowns were for 7, 25 and 60 yards.

SA led 28-8 at the end of the first quarter, 40-22 at the half and 52-28 at the end of the third quarter.
