TA defeats SA to remain undefeated

WAKEFIELD—Tidewater Academy’s volleyball team remains undefeated in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference after defeating Southampton Academy 3-0 on Tuesday.

Set scores were 25-10, 25-12, 25-12.

“We had a really good start and we just followed through,” said Tidewater Coach Jimmy Dunn. “We could tell that Southampton Academy was a little flat. I don’t think they had played in eight days.”

Leaders for the winners were senior Cary Beahm with 7 kills and 6 aces; senior Falon Williams had 7 kills. Senior Tyler Stephenson and junior Samantha Dunn each had 6 assists.

The Lady Warriors improved to 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the conference.

Tidewater at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, will host Christchurch.
