TA remains undefeated in VCC with 3-2 win

BLACKSTONE—Tidewater Academy remains undefeated in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference after going 3-2 against host Kenston Forest on Tuesday.

Set scores were 19-25, 25-19, 25-17, 26-28 and 15-10.

“We came out a little flat,” said Tidewater Coach Jimmy Dunn. “But they came back strong. I was proud of the girls for keeping their head in it.”

Leaders for the winners were senior Cary Beahm with 19 kills, senior Tyler Stephenson with 16 assists and 6 aces and junior Samantha Dunn with 11 assists and 7 aces. Dunn also had 16 straight serves in the third game.

The Lady Warriors improved to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference. They are tied for first with VCC foes Richmond Christian and Southampton Academy.

Tidewater at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, will host Richmond Christian.
