PETERSBURG—The Windsor golf team improved to 8-0 on Thursday after winning a Tri-Rivers District match at Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg.

The Dukes, who on Tuesday took the district title, finished with a 195 and were followed by Franklin with 213 and Surry 230.

Franklin senior Grant Scarboro won the nine-hole match with a 42. Windsor senior Cody Reese followed with a 43.

Jacob Pitman of Sussex had a 47, Windsor senior Sean Dejiacomo and Windsor junior Kyle Hollowell, each shot a 48.

“It was a good match today,” said Windsor Coach Broc Smith. “There were many improved scores. Grant and Cody played very steady while several others turned in their best performances to date.”

Hollowell broke the 50-mark, helping to put three Windsor golfers in the 40s and allowing the team total to be under 200 for the first time this year.
