Tidewater Academy defeats Amelia 3-1

WAKEFIELD—Tidewater Academy came from behind Thursday to defeat Amelia 3-1 in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference match at home.

The set scores were 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-14.

Lady Warrior Cary Beahm led with 14 kills and four aces. Teammate Falon Williams added 12 kills and four aces, Tyler Stephenson had 12 assists and two aces, and Taylor Pruitt had four aces, two kills and two digs in the win.

“We started slow, but I was pleased with the way they played toward the end of the game,” Coach Jimmy Dunn said. “We keep improving.

“We have a tough stretch coming up,” he continued. “We have five games the next two weeks against strong opponents.”

The Lady Warriors will host Blessed Sacrament Huguenot at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.
