Tidewater Academy girls’ volleyball team came from behind to defeat Appomattox Regional Governor’s School during its season opener on Thursday.

The Lady Warriors, who are coached by newcomer Jimmy Dunn, lost 24-26 in the opener, won the second and third sets, and won the fourth set 33-31. Senior Lady Warrior Cary Beahm led in kills with 16 and senior teammate Falon Williams added seven. Senior Tyler Stephenson and junior Samantha Dunn each had 11 assists. Dunn also led with eight aces. Tidewater at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, will host Amelia.
