Wakefield/Waverly ends regular season with two no-hitters

COLONIAL HEIGHTS—The Wakefield/Waverly Colts swept a doubleheader with two no-hitters against Colonial Heights on Friday.
In the first game, three pitchers combined for the no-hitter and a 12-1 win. Brynner Porter got the win. Will Dagenais and Mike Webb also pitched.
Colonial Heights’ lone run came as a result of an error in the third inning.
Dylan Beale and Webb each scored three times; Triston Holland had three RBIs and Dagenais added two RBIs.
In game two, Jake Holland and Dillon Hasty combined to strike out 11 of the 17 batters for a 3-0 win. Jake Pope, Nate Williams and Holland each scored for Wakefield, which finished the regular season at 7-3.
Wakefield at 7 tonight, July 16, will play in round one of the Appomattox River District Tournament against Hopewell.
