Windsor to host Nandua in region tournament

WINDSOR—The Windsor soccer team will host Nandua at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, for the opening of the region tournament.

The Dukes on Thursday were scheduled to play Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Tri-Rivers District title. Results were not available as of press time.

In other action, Windsor defeated Chesterfield 7-0 on May 18, Appomattox Regional Governor’s School 5-1 on Monday and Chesterfield 10-0 on Tuesday to improve its record to 14-1.

During the most recent game against Chesterfield, keeper Blake Allen made three saves. Goalie Eli Trantham played the first half and made four saves. Trantham also scored a goal and had an assist in the second half.

Ryan Brant picked up two goals and two assists. Mack Turner had a hat trick and two assists and Evan Binkley had a goal and three assists.

Racquel Doherty, Nick Powell and Tim Vogelsang each picked up a goal, and Grant Morrill and Gavin Dale each had an assist.
