Key’s one-hitter helps lead IWA into state semifinals

ISLE OF WIGHT—Isle of Wight Academy advanced to the state semifinals at 1 p.m. today, May 17, at the Petersburg Sports Complex after defeating St. Margaret Wednesday 2-0 in the quarterfinals.

Bailey Key gave up one hit and struck out four for the win.

The game stretched over two days due to a storm Tuesday.

The Lady Chargers led 1-0 Tuesday with two outs in the top of the third when the game was called for rain and lightning. The game continued Wednesday.

Trish Webb hit a bunt, stole second and reached third base on a passed ball before she scored on a Hailey Glover sacrifice fly.
