COURTLAND—The Southampton Academy baseball team beat Broadwater Academy 2-1 Wednesday behind nine strikeouts by Tonee Hill to advance to the state semifinals against Fuqua at 1 p.m. today, May 17, at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights.

Matt Nixon was walked to lead off the game and later scored on a Carson Camp ground-out to first.

A Sean Raulston hit scored Jacob Holland for the Raiders’ other run.
