Windsor wins 4-3 in extra innings

WINDSOR—Windsor defeated Surry 4-3 in a nine-inning Tri-Rivers District game on Friday.

Windsor was down 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning with two outs when Avery Miller hit a game-tying single that scored Gavin Horton.

The game went into extra innings, and Ernie Jump doubled in the go-ahead run that scored Horton with two outs in the inning.

Horton started the game for Windsor and pitched four innings, giving up two hits and striking out 10. Griffin Holtz came in and through two innings gave up two runs. Colt Copeland pitched the last three innings, striking out eight batters to get the win.
