Camp named to all-tournament team

SALEM—Southampton Academy graduate Michalann Camp was the lone Randolph-Macon College softball player named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Tournament team.

Camp started all three games in the tournament at third base for the Yellow Jackets.

The junior batted .714 (5-for-7) with two RBIs, two runs and a double during the two-day tournament.

In the Yellow Jackets’ only tournament win, Camp went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in a 6-4 win.

For the season, Camp hit .290 with 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored. Randolph-Macon finished the season in third place.

As a sophomore, Camp started in all 32 games at third base. She had 33 putouts, 61 assists and two double plays. At bat, she finished the year hitting .242 with 22 hits, nine runs, three doubles, one triple and 11 RBIs.

During her freshman year, Camp started as catcher in all 30 games. She batted .368 in 87 at-bats and scored 18 runs. Camp also had 32 hits, seven doubles, two home runs, 13 runs batted in, 45 total bases, five walks and two stolen bases.
