Lowdermilk wins 800-, 1,600-meter runs for SHS

FARMVILLE— Daniel Lowdermilk took two firsts during Southampton High School’s Tuesday track meet at Prince Edward High School in Farmville.

Lowder won the 800-meter run in 2:25 and 1600-meter run in 5:16 to lead the Indians to a second-place team finish. The Lady Indians also placed second overall.

Other individual winners were Jessie Fox in the 1,600-meter run, 7:11; Kirstyn Andrew in the 400-meter run, 1:46.8; Treshawn Chappel in the 400-meter run, 57.19; and Saquan Fenner, first in the 200-meter run.

The girls’ and boys’ 400-meter relay teams also won. Andrew, Jessica Heiser and Sahrah Giorgi competed for the girls, while Lowdermilk, Dylan Thomas, Chappell and Darius Artis ran for the boys.

400M—Fox second, 1:52.8; Kayla Duncan third, 2:18.1

BOYS

200M—Chappell second, 24.16; Daquan Cotton third, 24.34

800M—Justin Heiser third, 2:51

1600M—Dylan Thomas 3rd, 6:06

100M—Fenner 2nd, 11.12

Discus—Jarvis Tucker third, 96 feet
