COURTLAND—Southampton Academy senior Chelsea Speight won her sixth straight game during a 10-0 softball win over Richmond Christian.

Speight, who allowed three hits and four walks Thursday, has pitched every inning this season for the 6-0 Lady Raiders.

“She’s hitting the spots and getting the job done,” said Coach Jeb Bradshaw.

The defense twice threw out Richmond Christian players attempting to steal, including one going for home to get the shutout.

Ten out of nine SA girls stole bases.

Speight and junior Whitley Smith each had one double and two RBIs. Senior Skylar Goodman went two-for-three, eighth-grader Ashten Hinkle was three-for-three and senior Rachel Holland went two-for-four.

The Lady Raiders will host Greenbrier Christian at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3.
