TA beats Surry in five innings

WAKEFIELD—The Tidewater Academy baseball team beat Surry County 13-3 in five innings Tuesday.
The Warriors improved to 3-0 on nine hits against the Cougars.
TA pitchers Peyton Holdsworth, Hunter Haywood and Daniel McKenney combined to allow three hits. McKenney picked up his first win of the year.
Surry pitcher Tim Thomas pitched three innings, allowing one run.
The Warriors scored six runs in the fifth inning.
McKenney went one-for-three with a double, two walks, three runs scored and an RBI. Holdsworth went two-for-four with two runs and an RBI.
Tidewater hosts Portsmouth Christian at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 23.
