Tidewater girls lose home conference game

WAKEFIELD—Cary Beahm scored 22 of Tidewater Academy’s 30 points Monday night as the Lady Warriors surrendered 58 points to Virginia Commonwealth Conference foe Amelia Academy.

Beahm and teammate Falon Williams collected six boards each.

TA dropped to 12-7 overall and 9-4 in the VCC.

The Lady Warriors connected on 14-of-15 free throws, while Amelia Academy hit 20-of-32 shots from behind the foul line.

Tidewater was held scoreless in the first quarter and was outscored 21-10 in the first half. Amelia outscored Tidewater 16-11 in the third quarter and 21-9 in the final quarter.

TA hosts Richmond Christian at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9.
