COURTLAND—Carson Camp scored 34 points, including six three-pointers, in the Southampton Academy’s 78-65 win over Brunswick Academy Friday.

The Raiders have won three of their last four games and are a 3-0 at home this season. The win moves them to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference.

The Raiders led 30-2 after the first quarter, 42-19 at the half and 62-33 at the end of the third quarter in one of the best defensive performances all season, said Raider Coach David Gibbs.

“I thought we played extremely well,” Gibbs said. “Our defense was very active. For the first three quarters, the whole team played outstanding on defense.”

Tonee Hill had 21 points and eight rebounds in the win and Matt Nixon added eight points, nine assists and six rebounds. Matt Rose made 8 points and nine rebounds.

“The entire team did really nice things,” Gibbs said. “We shot the ball extremely well.”

The Raiders take on Greenbrier Christian at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in Chesapeake.
