IWA suffers third straight loss

ISLE OF WIGHT—Isle of Wight Academy lost its third straight game last Friday, falling 64-28 to Williamsburg Christian Academy in boys’ basketball action.

The Chargers took a 6-5 lead with 4:50 left in the first quarter. IWA didn’t score again until Rainer Marfio hit a jumper with 5:07 left in the third quarter. By then, the score was 40-10 in favor of the Eagles.

Nathan Silvertson led the Chargers with 8 points, while Marfio added 6.

The loss put IWA at 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the Metro Athletic Conference.

The Chargers will take on Amelia Academy at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, in the Peninsula Catholic Holiday Classic in Newport News.
