WAKEFIELD—Cary Beahm’s 16 points and 10 rebounds couldn’t lift Tidewater Academy over Hampton Roads Academy in a 43-36 loss in girls’ basketball action Monday.

Taylor Pruitt added 15 points for TA, while Falon Williams added 5 points and 8 rebounds.

Hampton Roads led 17-11 after the first quarter, and Tidewater trailed by 10 points at halftime. The Lady Warriors tied the game after outscoring Hampton Roads 16-6 in the third quarter, but an 11-4 fourth-quarter advantage for Hampton Roads sealed the victory.

The Lady Warriors made 10-of-15 free throws in the non-conference game.

Tidewater Academy fell to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference.
