HUDGINS—Windsor High’s girls’ volleyball team was swept Monday night by undefeated and top-ranked Mathews High School.
WHS, which fell to 10-5 on the year with the loss, was defeated 22-25, 25-14 and 29-27.
“We played well at times but made too many defensive errors to win the match,” said WHS Coach Jeff Burchette. “We also had some letdowns that contributed to the loss.”
For Windsor, Lauren Arrington had six assists and Allison Griggs was 14-for-14 serving with one ace and four kills in the loss.
Kelly Mathews had two blocks and Hannah Anderson had two blocks and two kills. Chelsea Nordlund was nine-for-nine on serves and had five kills, while Brittany Stephens had 10 digs.
The Lady Dukes, who are 5-0 in Tri-Rivers District play, will battle district foe Franklin at home Thursday, Oct. 20, with the junior varsity serving it up at 5:30 p.m. and varsity to follow.
