WAKEFIELD—The Tidewater Academy volleyball team suffered a tough 3-1 home loss Thursday to Christchurch School.

The Lady Warriors kept it closer than the final would suggest, winning the first game 30-28, but dropping the final games 18-25, 24-26 and 26-28.

“It was a hard loss for us, but the girls played well,” Coach Amanda Binford said.

The loss drops TA to 12-3 overall and 11-2 in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference. The Lady Seahorses also have two conference losses to Fuqua on the year, meaning if TA wins out it can at least have a share of the regular season VCC crown.

The tiebreaker would affect seeding in the conference tournament at the end of the season.

Tidewater’s Cary Beahm had 18 kills, two aces and three digs. Taylor Pruitt had four kills and three digs. Tyler Stephenson had 15 assists and two aces. Falon Williams had four kills and Samantha Dunn had four aces, four blocks, seven assists and three digs.

TA will play Fuqua at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, on the road.
