FARMVILLE—Marisa Cabell’s 30 kills during Tuesday’s match is believed to have set a match record for the Southampton High School girls volleyball team, which improved to 11-0 with a five-set win over Prince Edward.

“We researched it heavily last year when Regina Artis recorded 28 kills in a five-set match against Windsor,” said Southampton Coach Chad Brock. “Marisa recorded 11 of her 30 kills in the deciding set.”

Scores for the Lady Indians were 21-25, 25-11, 25-23, 23-25, 15-11.

Southampton improved to 4-0 in the Southside District. Prince Edward fell to 13-3 overall and 3-1 in the district.

For the Lady Indians, Madison Cabell had 11 kills and four aces and Madeleine Kahle and Kaylee Edwards had eight kills each. Teammates Candace Earls and Claire Cogsdale had 16 and 15 assists, respectively.
