The Indians on Tuesday placed second with a 178 behind Park View with a 166. Southampton’s record fell to 4-3, and Park View improved its standings to 3-4. Assuming Park View won on Thursday, the teams will end up in a tie for the season.

The tie will be broken during the 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, District Championship tournament at South Hill Golf Course. The winning team will advance to the regional tournament.

During Tuesday’s match, Southampton’s Billy Britton shot a 37, one over par, for second place. Lewis Mayes shot a 40 for fifth place.

“The rest didn’t play very good. They were in the 50s on our home course,” said Coach William “Buddy” Whitehurst.
