Windsor sweeps in volleyball doubleheader

WINDSOR—The Windsor High School volleyball team swept a doubleheader against Northumberland in its first match of the season.
The Lady Dukes won the first match 26-24, 25-11, 11-25, 14-25, 16-14. Windsor won the second match 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22.
“It was a good first win for us,” said Coach Jeff Burchette. “We played a very competitive team.”
Lauren Arrington had 13 assists over the span of both matches. Morgan Darden added 12 assists. Katie Mathews had 14 kills in the two wins, while Chelsea Nordlund had 17 kills and Allison Griggs had eight. Brittany Stephens had 12 digs.
The Lady Dukes will host Mathews at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30.
