Gibson, Hegarty take firsts in 5K

MURFREESBORO, N.C.—Pete Gibson, 55, of Murfreesboro, N.C., was the top male finisher during the North Carolina Watermelon Festival 5K run and walk. Gibson completed the run in 17:33.
The top female finisher was Meghan Hegarty, 27, of Raleigh, N.C., with a run of 21:01.
