Team takes first at Three Rivers Bass tourney

FRANKLIN—The team of Bubba Gay and Joey Scott took first in the eighth round of the Three Rivers Bass Tournament Series held at the boat landing near General Vaughan’s Bridge on Highway 258 on Sunday.

Gay and Scott weighed five bass at 10.29 pounds.

Gordon Bradshaw and his son, Darryl, took second with a total of 9.28 pounds, and Rick Caldwell and Frank Fullington finished third with a total of 7.32 pounds.

Darden Gillette, with help from his partner, Marty Britt, caught the heaviest bass of the day at 3.47 pounds.

“It was a beautiful day on the water to fish, and I want to thank the club for being very well run and to Marty for hanging in through the day,” Gillette said.
