Windsor defeats Franklin 6-3

FRANKLIN—Windsor defeated Franklin 6-3 in a Tri-Rivers District girls’ tennis match on Tuesday.

With only five players, Windsor had to forfeit the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles match. The Lady Dukes won four out of five singles’ and doubles’ matches.

Winners from Windsor in singles play were No. 1 Laura Patrick over Samantha Bruck 6-0, 6-3; No. 2 Taylor Ferguson over Sharnice Williams 6-0, 6-0; No. 4 Jessica Blythe over Jeanetta Sessoms 6-0, 6-4; and No. 5 LeKendra Batten over Kaitlyn Trotter 6-4, 6-3.

The Lady Broncos scored their lone win at No. 3 singles when Asya Lee defeating Jessica Bryant 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles action, No. 1 Ferguson and Batten from Windsor defeated Bruck and Williams 6-3, 6-0 and No. 2 Bryant and Blythe from Windsor defeated Kiera Cofield and Maura Zurfluh 6-3, 6-3.

Franklin is 4-11 overall and 1-1 in the Tri-Rivers District.
