Gay, Scott win second round of bass tournament

WINTON, N.C.—The team of Bubba Gay and Joey Scott took first in round two of the Three Rivers Bass Tournament Series at Tunis Landing in Winton, N.C., on Sunday.

The winning team had fish weighing a total of 11.31 pounds; Gay also caught the largest bass, weighing 5.46 pounds.

Darden Gillette and Marty Britt took second, Doug Williams and Tim Burgess third, Keith Vick and K.J. Vick fourth, and Red Arnold and Greg Harmon fifth.

K.J. Vick is the series’ youngest member.

“He’s always out there fishing the tournaments with his father, and he was out there in the cold and rain when some of the big boys stayed home,” Williams said.
