TA off to 5-1 start after win over Fuqua

WAKEFIELD—Tidewater Academy is off to a 5-1 overall start after defeating visiting Fuqua School 9-4 in a Virginia Commonwealth Conference game Wednesday.

Winning pitcher Josh Clarke struck out 11 batters and went 2-for-2 at the plate with 1 double and 1 run.

Tidewater’s Wade Parham and Joey King were 2-for-3; both had doubles and scored 1 run. King also added 1 RBI.

Losing pitcher Jai Jamerson went 2-for-4 from the plate, including 1 homerun. Jamerson also scored 2 runs and 1 RBI.

Fuqua made 7 hits and 1 error. Tidewater had 9 hits and 2 errors.

In action from Tuesday, Tidewater Academy’s James Price went 2-for-2, including a double and triple, and notched 3 runs and 1 RBI during a 12-2 win over Richmond Christian.

Price was also the winning pitcher.
