Registration under way for Spring Break Football Camp

FRANKLIN—Cover 3 Football and Franklin Parks & Recreation will sponsor the second annual Spring Break Football Camp 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 25, through Friday, April 29, at Hayden athletic fields in Franklin
The camp is for boys 6 to 14 years old. Registration paid by Tuesday, April 5, is $75; after that, it goes up to $85. Registration will include a camp T-shirt, instruction and lunch. Participants will be taught skills, drills, conditioning, teamwork, leadership and life skills during the flag football program.

Cover 3 Football is a nonprofit founded by former NFL defensive lineman Greg Scott. A native of Southampton County, Scott attended Hampton University and entered the NFL draft in 2002. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins, where he played for two seasons, and then played for the Cincinnati Bengals for three seasons.
Scott also played for NFL Europe in 2005 and Grand Rapids Rampage, an Arena Football Team, from 2006-2007. After that Scott returned home and began coaching at Hampton University.
In 2009, he founded Cover 3 Football to inspire and motivate boys to achieve their goals and conquer adversity through positive, personal and passionate mentoring and coaching. Since its inception, Cover 3 Football has started several community service programs, including Feed the Children, which provides snacks and meals to more than 2,000 children every day throughout Southampton, Sussex and Greenville counties and Franklin, Suffolk, Smithfield, Portsmouth and Emporia.
