ISLE OF WIGHT—Atlantic Shores Christian showed why they are the top team in the Metro

Conference, beating Isle of Wight Academy 91-38 Saturday night at Jester Gymnasium.

The Seahawks, undefeated in conference play going into the final week of the regular season, raced out to a 28-7 first-quarter lead. Vince Miles had 11 points in that quarter. His team led 48-17 at the half.

The Chargers got consistent production from guard Brandon Privette, who scored 20 points, just off his 21.1-point-per-game average. But a stifling Atlantic Shores defense virtually shut down the rest of the IWA offense.

Nathan Sivertson, the team’s second-leading scorer, only managed 4 points on one field goal.

Atlantic Shores’ gargantuan big men, 7-foot-3 Jordan Omogbehin and 6-foot-11 Dan Robinson, combined for 14 points.

The real damage was done by the Seahawks lightning-quick guards and forwards. Justin Watson led his team with 19 points, Ryan Stowe pitched in 14 and Lawson Basnight had 13.

The Chargers fell to 18-6, 10-4 in the conference.
