Tidewater Academy holds onto first place with 71-51 win

WAKEFIELD—Tidewater Academy boys held onto first place in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference with a 71-51 win over Richmond Christian on Friday night.

Senior Mike Greene led the Warriors with 24 points and junior Lamont Moore added 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Senior Martin Hellyer scored 13 points.

Tidewater led 25-8 after the first quarter and 41-20 at the half. The Warriors remained on top going into the final period, 57-39.

Tidewater will travel to Fuqua for a 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, game and close out the regular season at home at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, with Blessed Sacrament.

Tidewater is one game ahead of second-place Steward School.

Tidewater is 19-3 overall and 13-1 in the league.
