POWHATAN—Southampton Academy junior Rachel Holland led with 10 points and 7 rebounds during the Lady Raiders 53-36 Virginia Commonwealth Conference loss to Blessed Sacrament Huguenot on Monday.

SA led 14-10 after the first quarter and 23-21 at the half. In the third quarter, Blessed Sacrament outscored the Lady Raiders 3-16.

“They came out with a lot more pressure and our girl didn’t handle the pressure well,” said SA Coach Chris Pope. “We turned the ball over too much.”

SA fell to 5-5 overall and 2-6 in the conference.

The Lady Raiders will host Fuqua at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26.
