IWA remains undefeated in league with 57-48 win

Isle of Wight Academy broke open a close game in the fourth quarter to stay unbeaten in the Metro Conference, defeating Stonebridge 57-48 Tuesday night.

IWA senior and Metro leading scorer Brandon Privette made a game-high 22 points and sophomore Nathan Sivertson added 21 to pace the Chargers, who are 13-2 overall and 7-0 in the conference.

IWA held on to a 33-30 lead after three quarters, then started feeding Sivertson in the paint. The lanky underclassman scored 16 of his points in the fourth quarter as IWA pulled ahead, leading by as many as 11 late in the game.

The Cavaliers mounted a late charge on four, 3-pointers by Luke Unsworth, but were unable to close the gap.

Stonebridge drops to 6-9 overall and 3-5 in the league.
