CHESAPEAKE—For the Windsor High School girls’ basketball team, the clock ran out a little early Thursday.

The Lady Dukes lost 50-46 to Greenbriar Christian.

“We were down by 12 the last two minutes and came back within four,” said Windsor Coach Holly Andreski. “(There) just (was) not enough time on the clock to finish it off. I was pleased with the girls’ effort.”

Three Windsor players got into foul trouble, which allowed Greenbriar to score 14 shots from the free-throw line.

“We played with intensity the entire game and did not give up,” Andreski said. “As a team we had 28 steals and only 9 turnovers, which is our best all season.”

Greenbriar led 16-11 after the first quarter and 23-17 at the half.

For Windsor, Tierra Rawls and Whitney Searcy each scored 8 points for the Lady Dukes; Rawls made two, 3-pointers.

Curneshia Waters led with 12 rebounds and Maurica Bynum added 8. Searcy led with 7 steals and Candace Ricks added 5.
