WAKEFIELD—Tidewater Academy sophomore Cary Beahm led the Lady Warriors with 27 points and 10 rebounds during Thursday night’s 54-44 Virginia Commonwealth Conference loss to Kenston Forest.
Samantha Spain added 8 points for Tidewater.
The Lady Warriors led by 2 points at the half.
“In the second half, they doubled up on Cary, and we didn’t react well,” said Tidewater Academy Coach Charles Savedge. “We ran out of players. We don’t have but six full-time varsity players. For one, this is her first year ever (playing ball).”
“Then we got into foul trouble,” Savedge continued. “And we ran out of steam and out of players.”
The Lady Warriors are 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Their next game will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Southampton Academy in Courtland.
