Amy Elizabeth Panikowski and Robert Scott Hussey were married May 22, 2010, during an oceanfront ceremony at Ocean Breeze, Mayport Naval Station in Jacksonville, Fla.

A dinner-reception followed at Ocean Breeze.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Kathy Panikowski of Courtland. She is the maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Gagner and paternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Panikowski.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hussey and the grandson of Mrs. Edward Clark, all of Cocoa, Fla.

Aerin Jacob, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Leigh Buist, cousin of the bride; Cindy Panikowski, sister-in-law of the bride; and Sarah McKune and Ivy Marple, both friends of the bride.

Mark Donop, friend of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Matt Timmons, Zach Davey, Chris Finn and Matt Timmons, all friends of the groom.

Heath Gagner, cousin of the bride, served as the junior groomsman. Ushers were Justin Panikowski, brother of the bride; and Bill Wright and Micah Mones, both friends of the groom.

William Kerchagus, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

“All I Ask of You” and “Ave Maria” were sung by Jeff Joyner of Franklin and Leigh Buist of Kennesaw, Ga., cousin of the bride.

Special readings were done by Beth Buist and Celia Jernigan, aunts of the bride.

Rita Schafer, friend of the family, served as mistress of ceremonies. Host and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Alston of Suffolk, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Darden of Franklin and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harris of Sedley.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Marriott Courtyard Oceanfront at Jacksonville Beach. Before dinner, guests were treated to a flamenco dancing exhibition.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Southampton High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Mars Hill College. She then joined the Peace Corps and spent her tour in Malawi, Africa. After teaching school in Tampa, Fla., for 3 years, she received her master’s degree in geography from the University of Florida and is now working on her doctorate in geography in Southern Africa.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Cocoa High School in Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree in anthropology and history and his master’s degree in anthropology from the University of Florida. He is working on his doctorate in archaeology in Morocco.

For their honeymoon, the couple spent two weeks in Spain and Morocco. The couple resides in Gainesville, Fla.
