Region under tornado watch

FRANKLIN–Tornado watches are in effect for the Western Tidewater region until 1 p.m. today. That means the weather conditions could result in a tornado.
The flash flood watch issued Wednesday has been upgraded to a flash flood warning for the Western Tidewater Region. Residents in low lying areas could experience flooding from creeks.
Isle of Wight County Public Schools are closed today due to the rain.
Southampton Public Schools and Isle of Wight Academy are under a two-hour delay.
Chance of more rain today is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches are possible. Rainfall amounts from this system so far have ranged from 2 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts.
