GREENVIILLE, North Carolina – On Dec. 21, 2022, Jesus came and took Bobby Clayton Vick Sr., 90, by the hand and led him home to that Eternal Promise Land. Born and raised in Southampton County, he was a son of the late Dellie Robertson Vick and Annie Mae Johnson Vick. He was also predeceased by a sister, Jean Vick Thomas; a brother, Calvin L. “Jack” Vick; and three sisters-in-law, Annie Ferguson “Sally” Vick, Carolyn P. Vick and Marilyn Vick.

Left to cherish his memory is two sons, Bobby C. “Clay” Vick Jr. (Sherry) of Fountain, North Carolina and Jerry Todd Vick of Emporia; two brothers, Clifton L. “Bookie” Vick of Courtland and Melvin C. “Peter” Vick (Priscilla) of Sedley; and two grandsons, Aaron Campbell Vick of Durham, North Carolina and Isaac Ferguson Vick of Greenville, North Carolina.

Mr. Vick attended the Old Newsoms High School and was a veteran Army Corporal with active duty in Northern Japan. He was a senior quality control paper inspector for Union Camp Corporation with 47 years of service and was a recipient of the highest achievement award issued by Union Camp for saving the life of a co-worker by performing CPR. Mr. Vick was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church.

A funeral service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to 1209 Breakfast Ministry, Greenville, N.C.
