COURTLAND — Robert Lee “Robbie” or “Rubi” Madron IV, 52, passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2020, in his home surrounded by those who loved him the most.

Instead of pursuing a college degree, Robbie decided to pursue a career working with his hands. From working on heavy logwood equipment to a Ford Mustang, he did it all. He could take a bucket of nuts and bolts and in two hours have a motor rebuilt. Robbie knew more about motors and engines than probably anyone around.

Robbie was a friend to many and never knew a stranger. If he liked you, you were a friend for life and he would give you the shirt off his back. If he didn’t like you, he would certainly let you know. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He treasured spending time with family and friends and especially hanging out with his buddies every evening at the Manry Hunt Club.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved “bride,” Coramae Parker Madron; mother, Janice Sue Madron; daughter, Katie Lane; his godmother, Becky Kitchen; and his spoiled rotten dogs, Mollie, Bubblegum and Lil Bit, who was his sidekick. Where you saw one, you saw the other. He never went anywhere without her.

Robbie is also survived by an extended family of friends, old and new, special cousins who were more like brothers and sisters, and his favorite little people, “Spanky” Harper, Ellie and Piper Babb.

Robbie was predeceased by his father, Robert Lee Madron III, and his godfather, David R. Kitchen Jr.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Hoyle Green officiating. The burial will follow at the Madron Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Robbie hated flowers and only tolerated them because his bride loved them. So that being said, in lieu of flowers, please make any donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Center or Manry Hunt Club, two entities near and dear to his heart.

The family would especially like to thank New Century Hospice whose compassion and dedication made this experience so much easier.
