Capron Elementary School recently hosted its virtual Title I Annual Meeting and Family Literacy Night: Home Edition. Families were invited to attend a virtual story time and listen to “Splat the Cat” and the “Pumpkin Picking Plan” by Rob Scotton.
Then they were able to watch an informative YouTube video presented by Lorraine Whitehead, Title I specialist and parent liaison, presenting information concerning the school’s participation in the school-wide Title I program.
The next day the families were invited to a no-contact free book and treat pickup at Capron Elementary School. School staff were able to see their children in a safe, socially distanced environment and give them a book to help keep literacy alive in their homes.
