Detour in place while work is underway
COURTLAND
Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation have temporarily closed Route 658 in Southampton County between Route 675 (Greenhead Road) and Route 673 (Grays Shop Road) to replace a cross pipe.
A signed detour is in place advising motorists to use Route 35 (Meherrin Road) and Route 671 (General Thomas Highway) while the work is underway. The work is expected to be completed in one week, weather permitting.
